Happy Monday! I am so excited for this weeks Global Design Project Challenge. This week we are CASEing Louise Sharp. These CASE challenges are my most favorite. The GDP designers inspire me daily and Louise is no exception.

My card plays off the wreath, square shape and abundance of white in the CASE example. I used the rose swag from the Lots of Lavender stamp set to create a wreath. The images are heat embossed in white and then colored with Stampin' Write markers. Full supply list is below.

Lots of Lavender - Color Throw Down 475

It seems I've been a little MIA on blog posting lately. I have been making tons of samples but not many have been posted online ... yet. Feeling the need to craft and inspired by my friend Jenny, I thought I'd participate in this weeks Color Throw Down challenge. It's been forever since I've played along with this crew but it sure it fun to try out a different color combination. I don't usually use much purple in my projects. Purple is the perfect color choice to use with this flower bouquet image.

The stamp set I used is called Lots of Lavender and it's part of the current Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration promotion. You can earn it free with any 50$ purchase.

Another fun new product shown on this card are the Glitter and Clear epoxy shapes. These appear like tiny dew drops and are a simple and subtle embellishment.

I matched these challenge colors up to Stampin' Up! colors = Fresh Fig, Pool Party and Sweet Sugarplum.

Hi guys! Welcome back. It's time for another Global Design Project Challenge. This week we have a sketch for you to follow along with some great inspiration on how each of the designers interpreted this sketch. Check out the GDP blog and get ready to be impressed. I sure was. Now, I'd love to see what you create using this sketch. Play along with us.

While I'm still stamping quite a bit for my Christmas gifts and various projects it's nice to take a break and create a card using some NEW products! So new in fact that I don't have a supply list ready for you.

A little about my card ... Like I mentioned, I am using new products from the Sale-A- Bration promotion and the Occasions 2018 catalog. These items are available to earn and for purchase starting January 3rd. The stamp set I'm using is called Lots of Lavender and is part of the Sale-A-Bration promotion (set is FREE with a 50$ purchase). This 11 piece set has a large beautiful 2 step flower shown on the card. The color layer of the flower has been stamped in Powder Pink and then colored in with Calypso Coral Blends. The background papers and the YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE sentiment come from the Petal Passion Memories & More Card Pack ($10.00). I really like how this turned out. What do you think?

Now for something completely different and a little something on a personal note ... For the past couple of years I have given my Grandma 12 cards for Christmas. The gift is basically an adaptation on 12 days of Christmas where she gets to open up a card each day leading up to the 25th. I hand picked cards that I created over the last year with her in mind. She loves to make cards but has such a hard time with it now. Last summer, we were card making and I showed her the 'This Little Piggy' stamp set in the catalog and she was not a fan of the set at all. She did not understand who would want a pig card or want to make a pig card. I gave her this card as part of the 12 ... well, now she understands. She laughed when she opened it. My mom texted me this photo of her with her Pig card, she loved it! Ha, you see the sample sells the set. :) Love you Grandma!

Anatomy of a swap! Watch me create multiples of this sweet butterfly card to trade with other cardmaker friends. While I wish it only took a minute, in reality making 20 cards takes a couple hours. My fav… pulling out an OLD stamp set from the stash to create a custom background. I played with type to match the background to the primary image using simple watercolor and stamps. Paint and stamp in same color. Easy. Color is Blackberry Bliss. All time favorite stamp set? How about favorite of the month? Year? I have so many "favs" and they rotate. Today we are sharing projects using our favorite stamp sets from our stash. There are certain stamp themes that I am certain to buy and keep. Any stamp set with a typewriter... or camera image, purchased! I have loads. On this card I used two typewriter themed stamp sets. 'Rough Type', which is and old alphabet stamp set. Remember those? It seems like we don't have many aphabet stamp set options anymore. Good thing I kept so many around ...
