Festival of Trees shaker cards - Dec Card Club
December is always a busy month, and even more so around here with our house being on the market, lots of travel and some various freelance work landing all about the same time. I need to do a life update blog post soon - lots to update everyone on.
December card club happened a little early this month due to a busy month and all of the fun holiday happenings. Since Chris is out of town I needed to bring the boys with me again (same thing for November club). Instead of the kids being underfoot Geoff was able to watch the boys this time and the boys got the get in some cousin time. Win/win for me. Thanks Geoff!
We created a couple of shaker cards this month. This is the first of two shaker cards. This card features the Festival of Trees stamp set. There are two slightly different versions of this card. I'm not sure which I like best. On one shaker card I tried to heat emboss on the clear window sheet with silver embossing powder which was a little tricky so I decided to alter the card for club (static!). The altered version skips the heat embossing and uses Lost Lagoon as an accent color.
Festival of Trees - Merry Little Tag
I'm back with another swap to share that I create for this coming weekends Fall Stampin' Event in St. George. Here I created a small tag using the Festival of Trees stamp set, tree punch, and the heavy weight Under the Tree designer series paper. Super simple and easy.
One cool thing about photopolymer stamps is the ability to manipulate the stamp image. On this project I curved the verses and then cut around to the curve to make the banner. I tried a similar technique on this Sweet Moments Feather Card from a few weeks ago.
Festival of Trees - Merry Little Wish
Here is another swap I created for the upcoming Fall Stampin' Event in St. George. This card features the Festival of Trees stamp set and coordinating punch.
A couple of fun things to note:
1. The tiny snowflakes from the Frosted Sequins embellishments are tied onto each end of the white bakers twine. I like to add fun little details to my cards.
2. I used the new embossing folder from the Fun Frames pack to frame the tree. It's the perfect size for the tree.
3. The gray ornaments have been embossed with the Smoky Slate embossing powder.
